Fr. Linh Named to the MSCHE Executive Committee

Fr. Linh Hoang, O.F.M., professor of religious studies, has been named to the 2027 executive committee of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

It was announced in 2025 that Fr. Linh had been elected to a five-year term as a MSCHE commissioner. He has been involved with MSCHE in various capacities such as peer evaluation and the appeals panel for the past decade. He began his term as a commissioner on January 1 of this year; his one-year term on the executive committee will begin January 1, 2027.

MSCHE provides accreditation for nearly 600 colleges and universities in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico as well as many international institutions in South America, Europe and Asia.

The Commission's accreditation process ensures institutional accountability, self-appraisal, improvement, and innovation through peer review and the rigorous application of standards within the context of institutional mission, according to MSCHE's website.

Siena University has been accredited by MSCHE since 1943, and was most recently reaffirmed in 2024. The University's next self-study evaluation will be 2031-32.
