WHAT:
The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) will host a community immunization event on Saturday, October 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kennedy-King College (6301 S. Halsted St.) to officially launch the city's Respiratory Disease Prevention Season. The event will offer flu and COVID-19 vaccinations at no cost for all Chicago residents. In addition, routine pediatric vaccinations and school physicals will be available for school-aged children at no cost through all City Colleges of Chicago locations.
At 11 a.m., Dr. Olusimbo Ige, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health, will deliver remarks highlighting the importance of staying up to date on vaccinations to prevent serious illness and protect our communities. Following her remarks, Dr. Ige will publicly receive both her flu and COVID-19 booster shots as part of the event, providing a powerful reminder that vaccination remains one of the most effective tools to keep Chicago healthy during the fall and winter months.
