In April, Mayor Caroline Simmons, in partnership with Charter Communications, the Stamford Partnership, and dae, launched the Stamford Tech Hub. Charter has committed $5 million over 10 years to the Stamford Tech Hub and an additional nearly $3 million in-kind including the buildout and near-term use of space at its headquarters facility. Webster Bank has also invested in this effort with a grant to provide programmatic support. Announced at Charter Communications' Corporate Headquarters, this initiative will provide free, hands-on tech training programs, career pathways, and wraparound support services to help local talent meet the demands of Stamford's growing innovation economy. Over the next ten years, the Stamford Tech Hub will focus on connecting job seekers with in-demand skills and employers looking for trained professionals in tech-driven fields.
The Stamford Tech Hub will offer free technology training programs in fields such as software development, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital media. Designed to remove barriers to entry, the initiative will provide flexible learning opportunities, mentorship, and career coaching. As a key partner, dae will lead these efforts with its hands-on, real-world approach to education, ensuring participants gain practical skills that align with industry demands.
