LOS ANGELES - Chamber President & CEO Maria S. Salinas issued the following statement on the election of Nithya Raman as Mayor of Los Angeles:

"On behalf of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, we congratulate Mayor-elect Nithya Raman on her election for Mayor in the City of Los Angeles. As an organization with a deep history in Los Angeles, we look forward to working with her in supporting a thriving city for all.

Our city has important work ahead: addressing housing and public safety, supporting local businesses, strengthening our neighborhoods, creating jobs, and keeping Los Angeles competitive.

As Los Angeles prepares to welcome the world, we must get the basics right here at home. That means a city where businesses can grow, residents can find opportunity, and the economy works for all Angelenos."
