Dr. Ivette Guzmán-Zavala to be inducted into the Lebanon County Commission for Women’s Hall of Fame

Dr. Ivette Guzmán-Zavala, longtime Lebanon Valley College Professor of Spanish, will be inducted into the Lebanon County Commission for Women's Hall of Fame on March 18, along with a dozen other honorees. Rebecca Witherite M'92, Senior Portfolio Manager at Fulton Bank, will also be inducted for her community work. Alicia Richards, an abc27-WHTM television news anchor and reporter, will emcee the ceremony.

The Hall of Fame Committee seeks and honors hidden sheroes-those who have quietly used their talents to increase the quality of lives in Lebanon County-and hear their stories. Honorees are recognized in numerous categories, ranging from leadership to science and technology, during the annual Women's History Month event.

Guzmán-Zavala has done extensive research on Motherhood, Women, and Cultural Studies. She has also published on Puerto Rican Mennonites and Latinas (and/or Dutchiricans) in Pennsylvania Dutch County. In February 2026, she was invited to speak about her research on birth stories at the Universidad Pedro Henríquez Ureña in Santo Domingo. These narratives include voices from Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico. Guzmán Zavala is a Medical Interpreter and volunteer in Lebanon County. She has created opportunities for students to get involved with the community as part of Latina Heritage Activities at LVC.

Proceeds support Commission projects supporting women and girls in Lebanon County.
