ATLANTA (August 11, 2026) - On Thursday, August 13,at 9:00 a.m., the Joint Study Committee on Evaluating Escalating Costs in Georgia's Foster Care System, co-chaired by Sen. Kay Kirkpatrick (R-Marietta) and Rep. Beth Camp (R-Concord), will hold its first hearing.

ABOUT THE MEETING:
The Joint Study Committee on Evaluating Escalating Costs in Georgia's Foster Care System, created through Senate Resolution 622, will review Georgia's foster care system, the support services available to children and families, and the costs associated with those services to help ensure resources are available in the future and improve outcomes for children in foster care.
