Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN Hou Yanqi Pays a Courtesy call on Foreign Minister Sugiono

On July 15, 2025, Ambassador Hou Yanqi paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Sugiono of Indonesia and exchanged views on cooperation to advance China-ASEAN relations.

Ambassador Hou said that under our Leaders' strategic guidance, China-Indonesia and China-ASEAN relations have gained strong momentum. ASEAN is a priority of China's neighboring diplomacy. China will firmly support ASEAN's unity and strategic autonomy, ASEAN centrality in regional cooperation, and the realization of ASEAN Community Vision 2045. China is willing to strengthen bilateral and multilateral collaboration with Indonesia to jointly promote greater development in building the China-ASEAN community with a shared future, and make more contributions to regional peace, development and prosperity.

Sugiono said Indonesia attaches great importance to its relations with China and China's development is an important opportunity for Indonesia and ASEAN. Indonesia is willing to work with China to deepen cooperation in various fields and help boost ASEAN-Chinarelations to new heights.
