PALMDALE, CA - The City of Palmdale's administrative and business offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 20 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. City offices will reopen for regular business hours, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
During the closure, public works crews will handle any emergencies that may arise, including sewer overflows, roadway and right-of-way hazards, downed tree limbs, downed signs and potholes or broken sprinkler lines in City parks and landscaped areas. To report emergencies after hours or on holidays, residents may call 661/267-5338. Residents can also report issues online at www.CityOfPalmdaleCA.gov/Report.
The City's closure does not affect local Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department or Los Angeles County Fire Department services.
Legacy Commons for Active Seniors will be closed Monday, Jan. 20. Boxed lunch pickup services for seniors will not be offered on this day. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Seniors can sign-up for the regular lunch program by calling 661/948-2820.
South Antelope Valley Emergency Services (SAVES) will be closed for regular services on Monday, January 20. Drive-thru food distributions will be available every Tuesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. during January. Visit www.CityOfPalmdaleCA.gov/SAVES for detailed information, including how to sign up for services or locate a food distribution location during the closure.
Palmdale City Library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20., and will return to regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Residents may access Library materials and services online, such as HelpNow Online Tutoring and cloudLibrary, at www.CityOfPalmdaleCA.gov/Library.
Many City services are available online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Residents may register for Parks and Recreation programs at www.PlayPalmdale.com, and purchase Palmdale Playhouse show tickets at www.PalmdalePlayhouse.com. Parking and administrative citations may be paid online at www.CityOfPalmdaleCA.gov/Citations. Business licenses may be paid online by visiting www.CityOfPalmdaleCA.gov/BusinessLicense.
