College Bridge Improvement Project Updates
UPDATE: Lennar anticipates opening the south side of the College Bridge bridge for public use by the end of August 2026.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The College Bridge Improvement Project is a privately funded and managed development project led by the homebuilding company Lennar. The project is a required infrastructure improvement associated with Lennar's North River Farms residential development.
The bridge improvements include expanding the existing roadway from two travel lanes in each direction to three travel lanes in each direction, as well as constructing cantilevered sidewalks on both sides of the bridge to enhance pedestrian and bicycle access.
The project has experienced several schedule delays due to utility coordination, utility infrastructure relocations, and federal regulatory permitting requirements. While the permitting process remains ongoing, limited and intermittent construction activities have resumed, with the bridge currently expected to be completed in December 2026.
The City appreciates your continued patience throughout construction and encourages residents to continue using the north side of the bridge for pedestrian and bicycle access until the south side improvements are complete and open.
