2026 Assessment Year Informal Review Request Period Closed Formal Appeal Scheduling Opens for Hearings to Independent MBOE on Tuesday, May 26

Vivian Wilhoite, Assessor of Property of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County, is reminding residential and commercial property owners that although the complimentary Informal Review Request period closed Friday, April 17, 2026, property owners will still have an opportunity to appeal their property value and/or classification for the 2026 Assessment year.

"The Informal Review Request period ended April 17th, and we will mail and make available online at padctn.org the Informal Review Request decisions on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Property owners who disagree with the decision or missed the Informal Review Request period may schedule a Formal Appeal Hearing to the independent Metropolitan Board of Equalization (MBOE) beginning at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2026, through 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2026," says Assessor of Property Vivian Wilhoite.

Assessor Wilhoite shares that this is an opportunity to appeal your property value or classification. If the independent MBOE decision results in a change in value, it will be effective for the 2026 assessment year. Property owners cannot appeal the 2025 increased tax rates imposed by the Mayor and Metropolitan Council.
