GWSB Professor Wins National Award for Research in Renewable Energy Innovation

Long He, an associate professor of decision sciences at the George Washington University School of Business, received the 2025 Best Publication Awardin Natural Resources from the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) section on Energy, Natural Resources and the Environment (ENRE).

He was awarded for his article, "From Curtailed Renewable Energy to Green Hydrogen: Infrastructure Planning for Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Vehicles," published in "Manufacturing & Service Operations Management." His research offers innovative insights into how renewable energy can be transformed into sustainable fuel solutions through strategic infrastructure planning.

Before joining GW, He served as an associate professor of analytics and operations at the National University of Singapore's Business School. His research integrates data-driven optimization and machine learning to solve complex problems in smart city operations, sustainable energy systems and supply chain management.
