WASHINGTON-May 27, 2026-The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) today announced Ari Sulby has joined the organization as director of global policy, where he will focus on international trade and policy developments in Europe and Korea.

"Ari brings deep trade policy expertise and experience in global economic engagement to SIA at a pivotal time for the semiconductor industry," said John Neuffer, president and CEO of SIA. "His experience advancing U.S. trade priorities will be invaluable as SIA continues to advocate for policies that strengthen supply chain resilience, promote innovation, and expand market access for the semiconductor industry. We're thrilled to have him on the team."

Prior to joining SIA, Ari served as a director at the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), focused on industrial subsidy and state-owned enterprise (SOE) policy. In this role, he worked closely with U.S. partners and allies to address non-market industrial policy across bilateral, plurilateral, and multilateral forums - including at the World Trade Organization, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the G20. He also negotiated subsidy and SOE provisions in trade agreements, and developed new model SOE trade text. In this role he developed and advocated for trade policy in close coordination with interagency colleagues. Before joining USTR, Ari held several international trade and investment policy roles at the U.S. Department of State, where his portfolio included inward and outward investment policy, South and Central Asia economic affairs, supply chain resiliency, China trade policy, and trade enforcement.

Ari earned a master's degree in government and international law from Georgetown University and a bachelor's degree in international affairs from George Washington University.
