Diligent Urgent Care Agreed to Pay $614,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Incident-to Services that Identified the Incorrect Rendering Provider and Were Upcoded

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Diligent Urgent Care, LLC (Diligent), Union City, New Jersey, agreed to pay $614,137.34 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Diligent submitted non-physician practitioner incident-to claims for reimbursement which incorrectly identified the rendering physician and were upcoded to higher levels of service than warranted.
