The North Dakota University System (NDUS) has launched a search for the next president of Bismarck State College (BSC). Campus stakeholders will be asked to provide input on the search process during listening sessions scheduled for November 12-14 at the following locations:
Wednesday, November 12 - Basin Electric Auditorium, National Energy Center of Excellence - 1200 Schafer St, Bismarck, ND
Thursday, November 13 - Alumni Room, Student Union - 1425 Schafer St, Bismarck, ND
Friday, November 14 - Basin Electric Auditorium, National Energy Center of Excellence - 1200 Schafer St, Bismarck, ND
All sessions will be held in person on the BSC campus with two of the listening sessions livestreamed at https://vimeo.com/event/5498071/63e91114e5. Both virtual options will be on Nov. 12 and the chat function will be available to provide input if in-person attendance at any of the scheduled listening sessions is not possible.
Co-chairing the BSC Presidential Search Committee are Tim Mihalick, State Board of Higher Education (SBHE) member, and Karen Erickson, BSC's dean of enrollment management.
"Together, Erickson and Mihalick will guide the committee in identifying and selecting the next president of Bismarck State College. Their combined leadership and commitment to BSC's mission will ensure a thorough, inclusive and forward-looking search process," said SBHE Chair Kevin Black.
The full search committee will be announced later this month. The committee is scheduled to convene during the first week of December to review and discuss feedback gathered from the listening sessions. This input is essential to shaping a presidential profile that reflects the needs, values and aspirations of the BSC community.
