City of Denton Announces Continued Closure of City Facilities Due to Winter Weather

DENTON, TX, Jan. 9, 2025 - City Manager Sara Hensley has announced that all City of Denton facilities will remain closed to the public on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, due to ongoing winter weather conditions. This decision prioritizes the safety of residents and employees as wintry precipitation is forecasted to continue into Friday.

The National Weather Service predicts Denton could receive an additional 1-5 inches of snow accumulation along with ice, creating hazardous travel conditions. Essential City personnel will remain on duty to ensure critical services are maintained, while employees who can perform their job duties remotely will continue to work from home.

Residents are encouraged to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary and to stay informed about city operations and service adjustments by visiting www.cityofdenton.com/WinterWeather.
