On Tuesday, November 4th, Minister of National Defence, Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu, and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gheorghiță Vlad, met, at the MoND headquarters, with Admiral Pierre Vandier, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT), who is visiting Romania.

The meeting, which takes place as part of the NATO-Industry Forum 2025, organized in Bucharest on November 5th and 6th, emphasizes Romania's strategic importance in strengthening NATO's deterrence and defence posture on the Eastern Flank.

During the talks, the officials emphasized the importance of innovation and digital transformation in the context of new security and defence challenges.

"Innovation and digital transformation are engines of progress and it is important to identify ways in which we can collaborate to come up with creative solutions and innovative technologies adapted to modern warfare. We reaffirmed our willingness to be a trustworthy partner in future development projects and to actively support the testing and implementation of the new ongoing projects," Minister Moșteanu said.

In his speech, the Chief of Defence Staff emphasized that "digital transformation, multi-domain operations and the assimilation of emerging technologies remain constant priorities, which we pursue both at the level of the entire force structure and within allied framework. At the same time, it is necessary to continue efforts in the field of interoperability, by implementing practical measures, adapted to the current parameters of the security environment, with regard to the implementation of NATO standards and procedures."
