OSU Global is implementing a strategic reorganization to align with the evolving global higher education landscape while continuing to advance Oklahoma State University's mission of global engagement and student success.
"As global higher education continues to change, it's important that our organizational structures evolve as well," said Dr. Jeannette Mendez, OSU provost and senior vice president. "This reorganization reflects a deliberate effort to ensure OSU's global initiatives remain aligned, responsive and positioned to support the university's academic priorities well into the future."
As part of this transition, the English Language and Intercultural Center (ELIC) will be integrated into the Office of International Students and Scholars (ISS), effective Feb. 9. This integration brings together language learning, intercultural programming, immigration compliance and advising, and global student support under one unified structure designed to better serve international students and their families.
No services are being eliminated through this transition. Instead, programs and resources are being expanded and thoughtfully integrated to support the education and personal development of international students while strengthening cultural exchange and enrichment at OSU and within the Stillwater community.
In addition to this integration, OSU Global is officially establishing the Fulbright and Global Scholar Support Office (FGSS) to provide centralized guidance and application support for OSU students, faculty and staff pursuing competitive, externally funded global opportunities. FGSS will serve as a point of coordination for programs such as the Fulbright Awards, Critical Language Scholarship, Boren Awards, and the Humphreys Travel Grant, while collaborating with ISS to support visiting Fulbright students and scholars at OSU.
"Together, these changes strengthen OSU Global's ability to support students and scholars at every stage of their global engagement," said Dr. Randy Kluver, OSU associate provost and dean of OSU Global. "This structure allows us to be more intentional, more coordinated, and more impactful in how we advance global learning and student success."
Together, these organizational changes reflect a thoughtful realignment of OSU Global's programs and services. This reorganization strengthens coordination, expands student success and scholarly support, and positions OSU Global to respond proactively to shifts in the global market while continuing to foster a welcoming, connected and globally engaged campus community.
