CenterPoint files its annual status report highlighting energy savings by customers
MINNEAPOLIS - May 9, 2025 - CenterPoint Energy today announced the recent filing of its Energy Conservation and Optimization (ECO) 2024 Status Report with the Minnesota Department of Commerce and Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, which details the company's performance in helping customers reduce emissions attributed to their personal energy use through company efficiency programs.
Within the Status Report, CenterPoint reported that it surpassed its energy savings goal for the sixteenth consecutive year. Filed in 2023, CenterPoint's 2024-2026 ECO Plan is expected to reduce total customer emissions by approximately 1.29% each year.
Customer participation in CenterPoint's Minnesota energy efficiency programs has reduced emissions by nearly 17.7 million metric tons over the last 31 years, equivalent to removing more than four million cars from the road and saving customers approximately $2.9 billion.
