Caldecott Tunnel State Route 24 (Sr-24) Overnight Closures Bores #1, and 3

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans will continue overnight closures of Bores 1, and 3 of the Caldecott Tunnel on State Route 24 (SR-24) for tunnel washing, CCTV, routine maintenance, and drainage cleaning. Nightly Monday through Friday, February 27, 2026, through Friday, March 6, 2026, 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

Overnight Closure SR-24: 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Bore #3 Closures WB SR-24

  • Friday, February 27, 2026
  • Monday, March 2, 2026
  • Tuesday, March 3, 2026

Bore #1 Closures EB SR-24

  • Wednesday, March 4, 2026
  • Thursday, March 5, 2026
  • Friday, March 6, 2026

During each closure, all other bores in each direction will remain open.

Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
