The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a left lane closure for I-84 westbound will occur for 12 weeks due to work being performed on Bridge 03310, Cooke Street over I-84 and Route 72 in Plainville starting Monday night September 15, 2025, between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
CTDOT Project No. 0170-3557 was awarded to McNamee Construction at a cost of $9,128,103.00 on December 22, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed on October 30, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 4 in Towns of Bolton, Colchester, Farmington, Harwinton, Plainville and Torrington.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect left lane closures of I-84 westbound at the Route 72 Exit 33 split in Plainville for 12 weeks starting on the night of September 15, 2025. Traffic will be shifted to the right and two lanes of traffic will be maintained on I-84 westbound during the duration of the lane closure.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
