Liberty Park Ballfields to Temporarily Close for Dugout Improvements Beginning May 27

The City of Palm Bay Parks & Facilities Department announces a temporary closure of the Liberty Park ballfields beginning Tuesday, May 27 for planned dugout reconstruction improvements funded through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

As part of the project, crews will remove the eight original dugouts and replace them with eight new dugouts, including new concrete slabs to improve the functionality, safety, and overall experience for park users.

The ballfields will remain closed during construction to allow crews to safely complete the improvements. The project is anticipated to be completed, and the ballfields reopened, on Monday, July 6.

"These improvements represent an important investment in Liberty Park and the long-term quality of our recreational facilities," said Josh Hudak, Parks Division Manager. "We appreciate the community's patience during construction and look forward to reopening the fields with these upgraded amenities in place."

Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly during the temporary closure period. Updates regarding the project timeline will be shared if necessary.
