BOZEMAN - After its first-ever post-season win in the team's history, the Montana State University women's basketball team will continue to the Super 16 round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
The Bobcats will play the University of Portland on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Worthington Arena in Bozeman. Tickets are available for purchase on the Bobcat Athletics website. The game will also be streamed on ESPN+.
The team boasts a 25-7 record and Portland posted an 18-14 record - the same as the San Francisco Dons, who the 'Cats defeated Sunday - in the West Coast Conference.
Montana State automatically qualified for the WNIT following their loss to Idaho in the Big Sky Conference Tournament final. They received a first-round bye and defeated San Francisco 69-53 in their second-round matchup last weekend.
A total of 48 NCAA Division I teams were selected to compete in the 2026 WNIT. Following the Super 16 round, the Great 8 round will be played March 28-30 and the Fab 4 from March 31-April 1. The championship game will be held on Saturday, April 4, at a to-be-determined location.
