WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) released the following statement after voting to overcome unprecedented Democratic obstruction by allowing en bloc consideration of certain presidential nominees:
"For nine months, Democrats have destroyed Senate tradition and blockaded the government. They've held up every single one of President Trump's sub-Cabinet nominees - even those they supported in committee. This unprecedented obstruction requires a change of precedent. By updating Senate procedure, we're returning to the norms of quickly confirming most presidential nominees. We're returning to a Senate that works for the American people."
