PT TIMAH Supports the Construction of Al Ikhlas Prayer Hall, Bringing Greater Comfort to Daya Baru Residents in Worship

WEST BANGKA - PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk has once again demonstrated its support for community religious facilities by providing assistance for the construction and development of the Al Ikhlas Prayer Hall (Musala) in Dusun IV Daya Baru, Mentok, West Bangka Regency.

The prayer hall, which has been under construction since 2019, was built through contributions and community self-help efforts. However, limited funding has meant that the construction and completion of its facilities remain unfinished. As a result, improvements are still needed to ensure greater comfort for worshippers.

Suryan, Head of the Al Ikhlas Prayer Hall Facilities and Infrastructure Procurement Committee, said that several facilities still need to be completed, including toilets, flooring, a sound system, a garage, fans, and prayer mats for worshippers.

"This prayer hall was initially built through contributions from local residents. It is still far from perfect, and many things need to be completed to provide greater comfort for worshippers," said Suryan.

He explained that the assistance from PT TIMAH would be prioritized for purchasing construction materials for the prayer hall's toilet. According to him, the availability of a toilet is an urgent need, as worshippers who need such facilities have so far had to return home.

"The toilet is our top priority. We will use PT TIMAH's assistance to purchase materials for its construction. Until now, worshippers have had to go home because there was no such facility," he said.

Suryan believes that having a toilet will provide significant benefits for worshippers, particularly during Ramadan, when activities at the prayer hall increase.

"We hope that with the availability of a toilet, worshippers will be more comfortable performing their prayers here, especially during Ramadan. This is indeed one of our top priorities," he said.

He also expressed his appreciation to PT TIMAH for its attention to the needs of the community. Suryan hopes the assistance will also encourage other parties to contribute to completing the various facilities that are still needed at the Al Ikhlas Prayer Hall.

"Thank you to PT TIMAH. Hopefully, this assistance will motivate other donors to also help complete the needs of our prayer hall," he said.

A similar sentiment was expressed by Samsul, one of the worshippers at Al Ikhlas Prayer Hall. He said that construction of the prayer hall remains unfinished because it has relied on the community's resources and self-help efforts from the beginning.

"Since the construction of this prayer hall has relied on community self-help, there are naturally still many shortcomings. We hope that support from the government and companies can help complete the construction of the Al Ikhlas Prayer Hall," said Samsul.

With this support, residents hope that the Al Ikhlas Prayer Hall will not only serve as a place of worship but also become a comfortable and proper space for community gatherings and togetherness. (*)
