Complimentary Bottled Water Update & Additional PFAS Resource Information

The City of Cadillac's complimentary bottled water program for residents not connected to the City-owned water system, is coming to an end, likely by mid-September 2025. This program was made possible through the generous donation of bottled water from Ice Mountain.

The program started in December 2024, making donated bottled water available for pick-up at the Water Headquarters facility located at 7241 E. 44 Rd. Shortly thereafter, with few participants coming to pick up bottled water, the City initiated a home delivery program. Additionally, the City acquired 5-gallon jugs to provide to people for self-filling at the 44 Rd. location should anyone still need water after bottled water supplies are exhausted.

Currently, 14 properties receive weekly, complimentary bottled water delivery. Of these 14 properties, 5 already have installed water filters. The program was put in place as a temporary measure to provide water to people on private water wells that had yet to get their systems tested and/or filters installed if warranted. There are approximately 350 cases of water left, which should last approximately another couple of months. The City still has complimentary 5-gallon jugs that anyone in need may pick up and fill with municipal water at the 44 Rd. facility located at 7241 E. 44 Rd. during operational hours. This program should also only be used as a temporary measure until such time that property not connected to the City's municipal water system is tested, and if warranted, a filter installed.

The City's municipal water system is PFAS free with repeated non-detection of PFAS after testing. Additional information may be found on the City's PFAS Resource Page: https://www.cadillac-mi.net/493/PFAS-Resources
