JONESBORO - Get ready for a day filled with excitement and learning, as STEAMfest takes over Arkansas State University Museum from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The hands-on program will feature an explosion of colorful discoveries and learning for kids and adults alike. All are invited to get messy, experiment, fail and try again during this free event.
Guests will find Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) activities throughout the museum and grounds. Participating visitors can put their creativity to work by creating art, designing, building, playing with circuits, tinkering and petting live animals.
"STEAMfest was produced from the blending of two popular A-State campus events, TinkerFaire and the Arkansas Science Festival," says curator of education, Jill Kary. "During this expanded event, participating visitors will not only think outside the box, but they will also banish the box entirely, removing all boundaries from imaginative creativity, innovative thinking and scientific doing."
Whether you come with family and friends or by yourself, all are welcome to join the STEAM-powered fun.
For more information, contact Kary at [email protected] or by calling (870) 972-2074 or the Arkansas Science Festival director, Dr. Karen Yanowitz at (870) 972-3064.
