Caldecott Tunnel Westbound State Route 24 (Sr-24) Overnight Closures Of Bores #3 And #4

Nightly, from Tuesday, March 24, 2026, through Thursday, March 26, 2026, between 10:00 PM and 4:30 AM

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans will conduct overnight closures of Caldecott Tunnel Bores 3 and 4 on westbound State Route 24 (SR-24) in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. These overnight closures are being implemented to allow for storm drain cleaning, leak detection, and routine maintenance activities. The work is scheduled to occur nightly from Tuesday, March 24 through Thursday, March 26, 2026. Each closure period will begin at 10:00 PM and conclude by 4:30 AM the following morning.

Only one bore will be closed per night, while all other bores in each direction will remain open to traffic. Please note that this work is weather dependent and the schedule may change.

Changeable message signs will help guide drivers passing through this area. Travelers should anticipate possible delays and plan for additional travel time. Exercise care when driving through the construction zone and remember to reduce your speed in the Cone Zone. Always slow for the cone zone.
