City of Pasadena Announces Workshop on Updated Rental Registration System

PASADENA, Calif. - The City of Pasadena's Rent Stabilization Department (RSD) invites rental property owners to attend its upcoming Annual Rental Registration Workshop on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 6 p.m. The workshop will provide an overview of Pasadena's 2026 Rental Registration cycle, which opened September 1 and continues through October 31, 2026. During the session, RSD staff will showcase the City's updated Rental Registry portal and explain how the improved system guides property owners through registration in five clear steps.

The updated portal offers a more streamlined registration experience, making it easier for owners to enter property and unit information, review required details, and complete their registration. Users can also save their progress and return at a later time before completing the final step.

The workshop will be held at the RSD office, 199 S. Los Robles Ave., First Floor Conference Room. Attendees may participate in person or join virtually via Zoom at Bit.ly/MonthlyRSDWorkshops. Spanish interpretation will be available for both in-person and online participants.

The workshop will also cover key registration details:

• Who must register residential rental properties and units
• Important registration dates and deadlines
• An overview of the updated five-step registration process
• How to navigate the Rental Registry portal
• Information owners should have available before beginning
• Registration fees, payment options, and potential late fees

Please note that this workshop is an educational group demonstration of the updated system. It is not a walk-in registration assistance session, and staff will not be able to provide individualized support or complete registrations during the workshop.

Owners who need personalized, one-on-one assistance completing their registration are encouraged to attend one of RSD's separate walk-in sessions. During these sessions, Rental Registry staff can guide owners through the process and help address account-specific questions. Owners should bring their account login information and the most up-to-date information about their rental units.

Owners must complete their registration and pay the annual registration fee of $236.54 per unit by October 31, 2026. A seven-day grace period will extend through November 7, during which owners may complete any outstanding registration without being assessed a late fee. Beginning November 8, incomplete registrations will be subject to a late fee in addition to the annual registration fee.
