Tablelands Regional Council is combining free fun for the whole family with the chance to learn more about disaster preparedness.
'We're hosting a free Disaster Recovery Family Fun Day on Father's Day in Mount Garnet,' said Councillor Annette Haydon.
'There will be face painting, kids' activities, breakfast and a friendly game of community cricket.
'Chat to our Disaster Management Team about our community projects and explore the emergency services vehicles and equipment.
'You'll get to take away simple and practical tips for making your home and family more resilient to disasters.
'We're also keen to hear your experiences to help us shape local recovery and resilience actions.
'Strong communities are built together and they recover more quickly and effectively when they work together.
'I'm looking forwarding to seeing everyone at the Mount Garnet SES Shed at 10am-2pm Sunday 7 September,' Councillor Haydon said.
