Sept. 12, 2025 - Southeastern Colorado - Traffic will be reduced to one lane in direction of paving operations
El Paso County - The Colorado Department of Transportation maintenance crews will resurface US Highway 24 (East Platte Avenue) from Mile Point 311 to MP 312. Work will be performed the week of Sept. 15.
Traffic Impacts
From Monday, Sept. 15 through Thursday, Sept. 18, motorists will encounter road work on US 24 from Mile Point 311 (just east of CO 21/Powers Boulevard) to MP 312 (just east of Galley Road/Peterson Road in eastern Colorado Springs. Traffic impacts will include:

Working hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday

Various lane and shoulder closures will take place within the work zone

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the direction of resurfacing operations

Traffic delays up to 15 minutes should be expected
US Highway 24 Resurfacing Mile Point 311 (just east of CO21/Powers Boulevard) to MP 312 (just east of Galley Road/Peterson Road). Paving will occur in one lane each day. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in direction of paving operations.

Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.

Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.

Watch for workers. Drive with caution.

Don't change lanes unnecessarily.

Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.

Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.

Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.

Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.

Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
