62nd session of the Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review (adoptions) – Nauru

Mr Vice President,

New Zealand appreciates this opportunity to comment on the Republic of Nauru's Universal Periodic Review outcome.

We commend Nauru's commitment to strengthening its social protection systems through the National Social Protection Strategy, including enhancements to social welfare payments and programmes.

We also welcome progress in strengthening Nauru's human rights institutional framework, including the passing of the Human Rights Commission Bill 2025.

New Zealand appreciates Nauru's engagement in this Universal Periodic Review and looks forward to continuing to work in partnership with Nauru on human rights issues.
