The first "Jubilee of Italian Diplomacy" took place today, Saturday, December 13, in the Paul VI Hall in the Vatican.
The day began with the Jubilee Pilgrimage, with the passage through the Holy Door and the Holy Mass presided over by Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin. The day concluded with a papal audience, during which the Holy Father met with the participants.
Before the arrival of Pope Leo XIV, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, gave a brief address.
Minister Tajani said: "This is a historic day for the Foreign Ministry. Nearly 5,000 people, including diplomats, officials, and Ministry staff, along with their families, participated in a celebration marked by reconciliation and brotherhood." He wanted the initiative to strengthen the deep and historic ties between Italian and Vatican diplomacy, in their shared commitment to peace and international dialogue.
