Lafayette FCU Announces Key Business Banking Hires to Lead Revitalized Program

Lafayette Federal Credit Union has announced the addition of Anthony Pica and Don Springer to its business banking team, reinforcing the credit union's commitment to expanding and enhancing its commercial banking services. In their new roles, Pica and Springer will play critical parts in leading Lafayette Federal's newly revamped business banking program, designed to better serve the evolving needs of business members across the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Anthony Pica joins Lafayette Federal Credit Union as Senior Vice President of Business Banking, bringing more than 25 years of financial services experience to the organization. Throughout his career, Pica has successfully led business development teams and commercial credit groups, with a proven ability to attract, develop, and mentor talent across branch and business banking channels. Pica is recognized for his strategic leadership and commitment to excellence, with a strong track record of aligning business growth with community impact initiatives, including financial literacy, economic development, and affordable housing. Pica, a dynamic public speaker, is known for energizing teams and fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.

Don Springer joins Lafayette Federal Credit Union as Principal Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer, where he is responsible for both the growth and day-to-day management of the credit union's commercial lending activities. In his role, Springer will lead commercial lending staff across the full loan lifecycle- including origination, underwriting, closing, and ongoing servicing-ensuring consistent credit quality, efficient execution, and a seamless client experience.

Springer brings extensive experience in commercial lending, with a focus on owner-occupied and investment real estate, commercial and industrial (C&I) lending, and SBA-backed transactions. Known for his analytical rigor and sound judgment, he will work closely with borrowers, referral partners, and internal teams to structure financing solutions that support business growth while maintaining strong credit standards.

Together, Pica and Springer will lead Lafayette Federal's revitalized business banking program, focusing on delivering tailored financial solutions, strengthening client relationships, and expanding the credit union's presence within the local business community. Their combined expertise will support the continued evolution of Lafayette Federal's commercial offerings, ensuring members receive the personalized service and strategic guidance needed to achieve long-term success.
