Thank you for voting, provisional voting reminder

Thank you to everyone who participated in yesterday's primary election. The City of Madison is reviewing materials and preparing for the Municipal Board of Canvass on Friday.

Provisional voters have until 4:00 p.m. this Friday to submit their photo ID to the Clerk's Office. A total of 5 provisional ballots were issued at City of Madison polling places on Tuesday. The Board of Canvasser will meet at 4:00 p.m. Friday to count provisional ballots from voters who meet this deadline.

Acceptable Photo ID Includes:

  • Wisconsin driver license or state ID (expired after 11/05/2024)
  • U.S. passport (expired after 11/05/2024)
  • Military ID (expired after 11/05/2024)
  • Certificate of naturalization (issued within 2 years)
  • Unexpired driver license or state ID receipt
  • Tribal ID (any expiration)
  • Unexpired university/college ID with required elements; if expired, proof of current enrollment is also needed
  • Unexpired Veterans Health Administration ID
  • Citation or notice of intent to revoke/suspend a Wisconsin driver license (issued within 60 days)

Your ID does not need to show your current address.

The Dane County Voter ID coalition offers free assistance with the state ID process and free cab rides to the DMV. Call (608) 285-2141.
