City of Knoxville offices will be closed Monday, May 25, 2026, for the Memorial Day holiday.
The closure includes the 311 Center for Service Innovation, which operates the 311 and 211 phone numbers. Residents who need to report issues to 311 can use the My Knoxville app, available for download at https://www.KnoxvilleTN.gov/app. General information can be found by using the 24/7 chatbot at KnoxvilleTN.gov. The City's Solid Waste Facility at 1033 Elm Street - which includes the Household Hazardous Waste facility - will be closed Saturday, May 23, through Monday, May 25, resuming normal operating hours on Tuesday, May 26.
City Parks and Recreation community centers, including indoor pools, will be closed Monday, May 25. Inskip and Ed Cothren outdoor pools will be open all weekend beginning Saturday, May 23, at 11 a.m. Outdoor pool hours, admission prices and regulations are posted at https://www.KnoxvilleTN.gov/aquatics.
Waste Connections will run residential garbage and recycling routes on Memorial Day, and City crews will collect downtown trash and recyclables as usual.
On Monday, May 25, Knoxville Area Transit buses and LIFT paratransit services will operate on a Sunday schedule; view each route's Sunday schedule at https://KATBus.com/schedules-maps/. KAT customer service will be open 8 a.m. to noon. Administrative offices will be closed.
The City's four recycling drop-off centers, managed in a partnership with Keep Knoxville Beautiful, will be closed on Monday, May 25, for the holiday. Regular hours resume Tuesday, May 26. Recycling center hours are:
• Monday-Friday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Saturday-Sunday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
