NRCS in Texas Announces State Technical Committee Meeting

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is hosting a State Technical Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Grassland Soil and Water Research Laboratory, 808 E. Blackland Road, Temple, Texas.

State Technical Committees serve in an advisory capacity to NRCS and other USDA agencies on the implementation of the natural resources conservation provisions of Farm Bill legislation. Committees are intended to include members from a wide variety of natural resource and agricultural interests.

Chaired by the NRCS State Conservationist in each state, these committees are comprised of representatives from Federal and State natural resource agencies, American Indian Tribes, agricultural and environmental organizations, and agricultural producers.

The Committees meet regularly to provide information, analysis, and recommendations to appropriate USDA officials. Individuals or groups wanting to participate as members on a State Technical Committee may submit requests to the State Conservationist explaining their interest and relevant credentials.

The meeting is open to the public. To send agenda items or request special accommodation to ensure full participation in the meeting, contact NRCS Texas State Resource Conservationist Charles Kneuper at (254) 742-9873.
