"La impunidad protege y promueve la corrupción. El indulto a la exgobernadora Wanda Vázquez debilita la integridad pública, lacera la confianza en la justicia y ofende a los que creemos en el gobierno honesto." dijo el Comisionado Residente.

Puerto Rico's Federal Representative Issues Statement on Reported Pardon of Former Governor Wanda Vázquez
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - The Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, Pablo José Hernández, issued the following statement after reports of President Donald Trump granting a pardon to former Puerto Rico Governor Wanda Vázquez.
"Impunity protects and fosters corruption. The pardon granted to former Governor Wanda Vázquez undermines public integrity, shatters faith in justice, and offends those of us who believe in honest governance," said the Resident Commissioner.
Former Governor Wanda Vázquez is a Republican affiliated with Puerto Rico's New Progressive Party (PNP), which is also the party of the Island's current Governor. The Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, Pablo José Hernández, is a Democrat affiliated with the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) and serves as Puerto Rico's sole representative in the United States Congress.
