North America's leader in advanced building solutions expands in Chicago
CHICAGO - Today, Governor JB Pritzker, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), and Amrize celebrated the company's [MF1] new Chicago headquarters. Amrize's decision to choose Chicago as its operational headquarters further solidifies Illinois' role as a premier destination to locate or expand a business with its top-ranked infrastructure, access to supply chains, and skilled workforce.
"Amrize's official new headquarters marks a major investment in the future - a milestone for the company and for Chicago as a leading hub for innovation," said Governor JB Pritzker. "From Maggie Daley Park to the 606 Trail, Amrize's work is shaping the infrastructure and communities of the future. This announcement exemplifies Illinois' reputation as a top destination for future-focused companies. Just like Amrize, Illinois is open for business."
With over 450 employees and 15 operations in Illinois, Amrize's building solutions are inside Illinois' essential buildings and infrastructure, including Chicago landmarks ranging from iconic skyscrapers to the Chicago Riverwalk, Maggie Daley Park and the 606 Trail.
"Amrize locating its headquarters in Chicago is further proof that Illinois is the best place to live, work and do business," said DCEO Director Kristin Richards. "State incentives will support the company's investments in Illinois - nearly doubling its employee base as it expands its reach as one of North America's largest building materials companies."
As part of the State's comprehensive incentive package, Amrize received an EDGE tax credit, and has committed to making an $18.6 million investment, nearly doubling the size of its Chicago employee base by creating 50 new full-time jobs and retaining 62 full-time jobs. "Illinois is proving that when we invest in our workforce, infrastructure, and communities, businesses choose to grow here," said State Rep. Yolanda Morris (D-Chicago). We are excited to welcome Amrize's operational headquarters to Chicago and look forward to the jobs, economic growth, and new opportunities this investment will bring to residents across our region."
