VIENNA, 9 February (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Singapore to the United Nations (Vienna), Jaya Ratnam presented his credentials today to the Acting Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), John Brandolino.
During his career, Mr. Jaya Ratnam has served in various capacities, among them:
Ambassador to Vietnam (2021-2025); Ambassador to Belgium, concurrently accredited to the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and the European Union (2016-2020); and High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam (2012-2016). He has also served in various capacities in the Permanent Mission in Geneva, in the Embassy in Jakarta and the High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. Mr. Ratnam joined the Singapore Foreign Service in 1991 and has held various appointments at the Foreign Ministry covering Europe, Southeast Asia, International Organizations and International Economics.
Mr. Jaya Ratnam holds a Master of International Public Policy from Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University in Washington D.C., United States and a Bachelor of Arts from the National University of Singapore.
