March 2026 U.S. Airline Traffic Data Up 0.9% from the Same Month Last Year

U.S. airlines carried 84.4 million systemwide (domestic and international) scheduled service passengers in March 2026, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). When adjusted for seasonality, March enplanements are down 0.3% from February and down 1.9% from the all-time high reached in June 2024.

BTS reported 73.1 million domestic passengers and 11.3 million international passengers on U.S. airlines flights in March, not adjusting for seasonality.

Trends (not seasonally adjusted) in U.S. airlines passenger enplanements

March unadjusted

  • Systemwide enplanements (84.4M) were down 0.5% from the all-time March high (84.9) reached in 2024.
  • Domestic enplanements (73.1M) were down 0.1% from the all-time March high (73.2) reached in 2024.
  • International enplanements (11.26M) were down 3.1% from the all-time March high (11.62) reached in 2024.
