Statement from Senator Warren on Russ Vought Requesting Funds for the CFPB

Washington, DC - Today, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, released the following statement on Russ Vought requesting funds for the CFPB from the Federal Reserve:

"Donald Trump has been trying to kill the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for a year - an agency that has returned more than $21 billion directly to consumers cheated by big banks and giant corporations. But today Russ Vought was forced to request funding for the agency because we fought back in the courts. We'll stay in the fight to stop Trump and Vought from shutting down the CFPB and abandoning Americans who get scammed out of their money."
