Lewisville Animal Shelter "Pet of the Week" - Umber
In an effort to spread the word about animal adoption and to help these loving animals find fur-ever homes, the City of Lewisville will feature a Pet of the Week each week in this media packet, available for adoption at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 995 E. Valley Ridge.
This week's featured pet is Umber, a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees mix. Known Traits/Quirks: Umber is a big fella with a lot of love to give. He's calm and quiet in new situations. He also is a big fan of swimming and playing in the water and would love a family that is active outside. Umber is vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, heartworm negative, had flea treatment applied, and sterilized.
Anyone interested in Umber can submit an application through the "Adoptable Pets" page at cityoflewisville.com. Just click on his picture and follow the unique URL to begin an online adoption application. Once the application has been submitted, Lewisville Animal Services will call the applicant on or before the next business day. While on the phone and if approved, staff will counsel the potential adoption and will schedule an appointment for a visit. Applications will be responded to in the order they are received.
Adoption Fees Waived
The Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is waiving adoption fees for all dogs over 20 pounds during the month of September. The regular adoption fee is $90.
