A Night of Stand-up
Lewisville Grand Theater shines a spotlight on DFW's funniest folks with "A Night of Stand-up featuring Paul Varghese and Friends," Friday, April 17, 8 p.m., in the Black Box Theater inside Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.
Varghese has been seen on Showtime, NBC and Comedy Central. He has won The Funniest Comic in Texas, The Laughing Skull, and The Trial by Laughter competitions. He was the opening act for Russell Peters and Joan Rivers and his last special "As I Was Saying" is currently out on YouTube.
Barry Whitewater is a suburban dad from Dallas. A married father of two children, who says they love him, but act quite the opposite. Want to know what insight a middle-aged father of two can bring today's world, he's got it. Born just North of the border, he'll compare both. Whitewater has appeared on JLTV and worked with comedians Nate Bargatze, Jon Lovitz and Tom Arnold. He's headlined at the State Fair of Texas and the Plano Comedy Festival.
Danny Tran is a Dallas comedian born and raised in Houston. He has performed at numerous comedy festivals including the Blue Whale Comedy Festival and the Altercation Comedy Festival. He has opened for great headliners such as Beth Stelling, Erica Rhodes, and David Cross. By exploring the world one comedy club at a time, Danny is trying to bring smiles and laughs during his time on Earth!

The Grand is Lewisville's home for the arts. It presents a variety of regional and national touring performers, art exhibits, and classes, while also giving the many arts groups in the greater Lewisville area a facility to perform and display their works. Its multiple performance spaces play host to a variety of events including live music, theater, dance performances, comedy shows, and more. The center features the 294-seat Huffines Performance Hall, black box theater, recital hall, art gallery, and courtyard.
To reach The Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. The Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center. Please be aware that there is heavy road construction at the Main Street interchange with I-35E that will cause delays.
