NAPA, CA - To continue to support the preservation, propagation, and protection of fish and wildlife in county, the Napa County Wildlife Conservation Commission (WCC) will begin accepting applications for the 2025-2026 WCC Grant Cycle on Friday, June 20. The funding for these grants is provided by California Department of Fish and Wildlife fines, local fines, and settlements, and the General Fund.
The total grant funds available for projects varies each year depending upon funding availability and demonstrated project needs. Past grant proposals have included wildlife rehabilitation, native habitat restoration, environmental education programs, and species monitoring studies.
Grant applications are due by Monday, July 21, 2025. The WCC is scheduled to meet to review and consider the applications on August 25, 2025. The WCC consists of eight members, including four at-large/citizen representatives, one sportsperson or angler, one youth, one wildlife conservation representative, and one member of the Planning Commission.
Grant applications and selection criteria materials are available at the Planning Building and Environmental Services Department located at 1195 Third Street, Suite 210 in Napa and on the Wildlife Conservation Commission website.
