Palm Desert Aquatic Center Closing for Upgrades

Big improvements are on the way at the Palm Desert Aquatic Center (PDAC) as the City prepares to invest in critical infrastructure upgrades that will keep this well-loved community asset running strong for years to come.

Beginning November 17, 2025, PDAC will temporarily close for a comprehensive renovation of its pump room and pool systems. The project will replace aging pumps, filters, and heaters across all three pools, modernizing core infrastructure that has supported the facility since it opened in 2011.

These upgrades will enhance water quality, reduce service interruptions, and improve energy efficiency, ensuring a more reliable and enjoyable experience for the community. The City's investment reflects our commitment to keeping PDAC a top-notch destination for swimmers of all ages, now and into the future.

Designed by a professional aquatics engineer and set to be constructed by a reputable commercial pool contractor, the project includes the removal and replacement of key mechanical systems and a full reconfiguration of the pump room to better accommodate new, energy-efficient equipment. The facility closure is expected to last through January 2026.

We know how much the community values PDAC, and we appreciate your patience as we complete these essential upgrades. The result will be a more dependable, comfortable, and sustainable aquatic center for everyone to enjoy.
