Mono County Assistant Administrator Christine Bouchard Honored with 2026 Women of Distinction Award at Tuesday's Board of Supervisors Meeting

Bridgeport, Calif. (April 22, 2026) - Yesterday, at the Mono County Board of Supervisors meeting, a representative from the office of Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil (R-Jackson) officially presented the 2026 Mono County Women of Distinction Honor to Christine Bouchard.

Bouchard, who currently serves as the Assistant County Administrative Officer for Mono County, was recognized for her exceptional leadership in County administration and her unwavering advocacy for veterans, military families, and the broader community.

A proud United States Navy veteran, Bouchard has been instrumental in strengthening Mono County's ties with its veteran population. She successfully re-established the Veterans Day Celebrations in Bridgeport, restoring a vital community observance that honors generations of local service members. Furthermore, she played a key role in implementing the Mono County Military Appreciation Program and the annual Military Appreciation Week, while championing the creation of a new volunteer "Military Appreciation Liaison" role to expand support for military families. Beyond her veterans' advocacy, Bouchard was also commended for her critical leadership as Interim Emergency Services Director during the County's recovery efforts following the Pack Fire.

"Christine is an invaluable asset to Mono County, and her dedication to our community, particularly our veterans, is truly inspiring," said Jennifer Kreitz, Chair of the Mono County Board of Supervisors, District 4. "We are incredibly proud to see her receive this well-deserved honor. We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to Senator Alvarado-Gil for taking the time to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary women who are making a difference throughout her district."

The Women of Distinction program highlights individuals nominated by their peers and community members for their exceptional service, professional achievements, and dedication to improving the lives of others. Senator Alvarado-Gil, who represents the 4th Senate District, is continuing the series with honorees from each of the 13 counties in her district throughout the spring of 2026.
