Response by Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus R.Varankou to Xinhua correspondent's question

Xinhua: This year marks the 55th anniversary of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758. Belarus has repeatedly declared its support for the One China principle. How does Minsk assess the significance of this resolution today, and how relevant is Belarus's position on the Taiwan issue in the context of the current situation?

R.Varankou: Guided by the spirit of the all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership with the People's Republic of China, as well as its international obligations, the Republic of Belarus consistently adheres to the One China principle. Belarus proceeds from the premise that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of it.

We note the enduring significance of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 as a document that enshrined these political and legal realities. Belarus invariably supports China's efforts to preserve national unity, respects its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and opposes any form of external interference in its internal affairs.
