The City of Spokane will have several closures related to the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 25.

  • Spokane City Hall will be closed, along with other City facilities.
  • Garbage, recycling, and yard waste services will be a day late all week, with normal Friday services planned for Saturday. Residents who miss garbage day can report their missed solid waste collection online. The Waste to Energy Facility and Spokane County Transfer Stations will be closed and will not be available to receive garbage, recycling, food and yard waste, or household hazardous waste.
  • On-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payments but remember even when parking is free on holidays, all parking rules, including time limits, still apply.
  • All Spokane Public Library branches will be closed. Hillyard Public Library will be closed on Friday, May 24, for carpet cleaning. Indian Trail Public Library will be closed on Sunday, May 26, for carpet cleaning.
  • The Spokane Municipal Court and Community Justice Services will be closed.
  • Spokane 311 employees will not be available for in-person, phone, or online customer service inquiries. The public can access Spokane311.org 24 hours a day, as messages will be responded to the next business day.
  • Development Services Center employees will not be available on Memorial Day.
  • The Spokane City Council has canceled its meeting for Memorial Day. The Council will meet next on Monday, June 1, for its regular 3:30 p.m. agenda review and the 6 p.m. legislative meeting. Meetings are shown live on CityCable 5, the City website, and Facebook.

Meanwhile, Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel, the Numerica SkyRide, and the Numerica Skate Ribbon will be open during the holiday weekend. Details are available online. City golf courses will have normal operations, and select splash pads are scheduled to open on Friday, May 22, ahead of the holiday weekend.
