DAVENPORT, Iowa - A Davenport man was sentenced on October 8, 2026, to five years in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a felon.
According to public court documents and evidence presented at sentencing, Terry Lee Chance, Jr., 33, drove through Davenport in possession of a .40 caliber pistol with an obliterated serial number. Officers with the Davenport Police Department recovered the pistol during a traffic stop of the vehicle Chance drove.
After completing his term of imprisonment, Chance will be required to serve a three-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
United States Attorney David C. Waterman of the Southern District of Iowa made the announcement. The Davenport Police Department investigated the case.
