Humaira Ali, CCAC student in the Health Information Technology program, has been appointed as a Student Liaison by the Pennsylvania Health Information Management Association (PHIMA).
Humaira Ali, a CCAC student in the Health Information Technology program, has been named as a 2026 Student Liaison by the Pennsylvania Health Information Management Association (PHIMA). This is her second year in this role.
The PHIMA Student Liaison position is designed to engage Pennsylvania HIM students in the value of volunteerism and professionalism. Students selected for the position gain invaluable knowledge of the PHIMA Board process and volunteer experience while learning skills in professionalism, communication and project management.
A PHIMA 2025 scholarship recipient, Ali holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in civil engineering. Inspired by her growing passion for health care and technology, she transitioned into the field of health information and informatics, where her academic interests focus on the intersection of health care data, technology and information systems.
With her long-term goal of building a career as an informatics specialist, Ali plans to combine her analytical and technical engineering background with her knowledge of health information systems to help improve health care data management and patient outcomes.
